MORE ABOUT KUO

Kuo (Wuu) Li-Heng, a Taiwanese dance artist born in Taipei, has a strong research interest in the importance of body awareness, healthy mindset, and sense of community.

Experience:

2010~2014

• Li-Heng Kuo became a member of the Taipei Male Choir(TMC). During this time, she has deeply immersed himself in music harmony while also enriching his experience in group collaboration. She has traveled with the group and has successfully completed more than 40 concerts.

• In 2011, Li-Heng Kuo and TMC were invited to perform at the Flower Expo and recorded the children's version of Jiang Hui's song "Keep hold of me tightly.". She also recorded the theme song for the TV drama "Hedgehog Boy" on Public Television Taiwan. That same year, she had the honor of performing with the Lark Men's Chorus at the National Concert Hall for the concert "Celebrating a Century, Discovering the Human Voice". In 2015, she received an invitation to participate in the 1st Taiwan International Children's Choral Festival. Li-Heng Kuo has showcased his talent at renowned venues including the National Concert Hall, Zhongshan Hall, Guangfu Hall, and Taipei Hakka Cultural Park. In addition to his domestic performances, in 2014, she was exclusively invited as the only Asian team to participate in the "Poznan International Festival of Children's and Youth Choirs" in Poland.

2014~2017

• Kuo started collaborating with U-Theatre as a student actress, which is a theatre company with a unique and distinctive presence in the cultural sphere and is widely recognized internationally, following in the footsteps of Cloud Gate Dance Theatre. Within the professional theater work environment, Kuo embraced interdisciplinary artist development. This included training in performance techniques by Polish theater master Jerzy Grotowski, objective theater, and learning martial arts from instructors in the Art and Propaganda Center of the General Political Warfare Department of the Ministry of National Defense. Kuo also learned specific drumming techniques and meditation practices from percussion artists in Malaysia. Additionally, Kuo specialized in marimba, vocal music, and dance, while also studying music theory, Western percussion, piano, gymnastics, and sacred dance. In the summer of 2017, Kuo completed an intense three-year training program and performed in over one hundred percussion and physicality showcases with the theater troupe.

2018:

• Student creation performance "凝境" and choreography "集" ("Gather Together")

• Successfully obtaining admission to the National Taiwan University of Arts Bachelor of Dance program.

• Created "寂渡跳慟" ("Normal Insane") at the dance department of Taiwan University of Arts

• TDF Taiwan University of Arts Dance Festival: Honorable Mention for "寂渡跳慟"

• Dancer of TA Studio's yearly presentation, choreographed by Po-Chen Tsai

2019:

• National University of the Arts graduation performance "翅裸" ("Nacked Swing"): Dancer for the works "Danadanaw" and "俯瞰" ("Overlook")
